Ropeguard damage
For this emergency afloat repair, one of our service engineers had to remove a foreign object that had gotten stuck between two seal housings.
Damage had occurred to the stern tube seals, the ceramic coated liner and had also caused an oil leakage. The damaged stern tube seals were replaced with our own spare parts, compatible to Wärtsilä 4BL AFT size 530. By replacing the stern tube seals, the leakage was solved but the liner needs to be machined or replaced upon the next drydock.
