Does the propeller shaft need to be removed to replace Kemel seals?

No, removing the propeller shaft is not required to replace Kemel stern tube seals or Kobelco stern tube seals in most situations.

Using advanced bonding techniques, our service engineers can efficiently replace both the forward and aft Kemel (or Kobelco) seals without removing the shaft. We can perform this service either afloat or in dry dock, and under normal conditions, we complete the job in just three to four days.
